LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) – A former Lebanon County doctor is scheduled to be sentenced today for inappropriately touching patients.

Doctor Samuel Rashid pleaded no contest, accepting the punishment but not admitting guilt.

The 62-year-old worked at Lebanon Valley Family Medicine in North Londonderry Township.

Prosecutors said more than 30 of his former patients are set to testify, some cases dating back to 1999.

The patients said that when they went in for a problem, Rashid found a way to touch their private areas.

The charges focus on four women.

One woman said she was about 15-years-old when Rashid insisted on giving her pelvic exams during every visit, even if it was for a sore throat.

Another woman said she was about 12-years-old when Rashid rubbed her breast under her bra during an exam for a possible ear infection.

According to the state department’s website, Rashid voluntarily surrendered his license and can no longer practice medicine.

Charges were initially filed in 2013 and the sentencing was postponed twice this year.

The sentencing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the Lebanon County Courthouse.
