Lingering clouds and drizzle will persist early today as yesterday’s storm system pulls away. It brought a healthy amount of rainfall to the region with many spots picking up between 0.3″-0.8″. Some sunshine will return this afternoon as temperatures climb into the mid 40s. Expect more clouds again tonight with temperatures falling to around 30 degrees.
The rest of the week and the weekend will encounter the coldest air so far this season. The arrival of the cold air begins tomorrow with a few flurries and an increasing breeze from the northwest. The winds increase to 10-20 mph Friday with temperatures stuck in the 30s for much of the day, before dropping into the low 20s by Saturday morning. It will be frigid and blustery at times tomorrow and Friday as temperatures fall.
The weekend remains seasonably cold and dry. We are watching a system that may bring rain or snow showers late Sunday into early next week. Details are still sketchy when it comes to timing and precipitation type but stay tuned…more will known as we get closer to the weekend.
