A Lancaster man is facing charges after police say he assaulted an officer.
Police pulled over Joshua Prescott for having a broken headlamp. Officers say he was the driver, and quickly exited the vehicle when it was pulled over.
Police say Prescott ignored several commands to return to his vehicle, instead walking towards his residence.
The officer attempted to grab a hold of Prescott, and he pulled away from the officer.
Police say a scuffle ensued between the officer and Prescott, as he was being taken into custody.
During the altercation, the officer successfully deployed his Taser, and Prescott stopped resisting.
He was taken into custody without further incident.
He is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and a summary traffic violation.
