LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – The Lancaster Archery Supply is a family business. Robert and Carole Kaufhold’s house is right next to their pro shop and training center. Their daughter Casey, has made the most of her bow and arrow life.
“(I feel) calm, like you know you’re supposed to be in the sport.”
At 12 years old, she’s already made her claim as one of the top youth archers in the country. Her most recent performance at the Easton Junior Olympic Archery Development Nationals spoke volumes, winning the top prize in the tournament, the Grand National Championship, and crushing the event’s record for the most points scored.
“I was just speechless, I didn’t know how to handle it exactly.”
Robert’s been a proud dad all along, regardless of her titles or records
“My goals have already been met. I certainly believe that she loves the sport of archery. That’s all I ever wanted for her.”
With the Olympics dominating the sports landscape right now, you can’t help but weight Kasey’s chances of making the 2020 games. She’ll be 16, the minimum age for eligibility.
“I would love to go to the 2020 Olympics. It would just be a dream.”
