Going-out-of-business sales began Friday at Bon-Ton department stores.
The liquidation sales are expected to last 10 to 12 weeks. All stores are to be closed no later than Aug. 31.
For the next 10 days only, Bon-Ton will accept purchase returns, and honor gift cards and store credits.
The York and Milwaukee-based retailer filed for Chapter 11 financial restructuring in February. A group of liquidators and creditors submitted the winning bid at a bankruptcy court-approved auction for the company’s assets this week.
According to a notice filed with the state Department of Labor and Industry, 332 employees will lose their jobs when Bon-Ton closes its corporate offices in York.
About 20,000 employees nationally will be affected by more than 200 store closings.
