13,000 lose power during strong thunderstorm


More than 13,000 electricity customers were without power as a strong thunderstorm moved through central Pennsylvania on Tuesday afternoon.

PPL Electric Utilities at 4:50 p.m. reported 3,669 outages in Dauphin County and 3,699 more in Perry County.

Just over 1,400 customers in Cumberland County were affected, and about 550 had lost power in Juniata County.

First Energy reported 2,793 customers without power in Cumberland County and 1,271 others affected in Lebanon County.
