3 people charged, 1 still wanted for shooting 12-year-old

York City police have charged 3 people in connection with the shooting of a 12-year-old earlier this month. 

Police were called to the 100 block of Stevens Avenue on September 9th for a report of a child shooting victim. He was taken to York Hospital, and is currently recovering at home.

West York Police were later called to the 1st block of Dewey Street on September 12th for another shooting victim. That peron, 19-year-old Stephen Gerhardt was struck in the torso, and taken to York Hospital for treatment and released. 

Officers from both departments collaborated on the investigations, and found probable cause for offenders in both shootings. 

Gerhardt is charged with attempted homicide in the September 9th shooting, and reckless endangerment for the September 12th shooting. He is currently in York County Prison. 

Police also charged 17-year-old Eric Bones with attempted homicide for the September 9th shooting, and charges of reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm by a minor for the September 12th shooting.

Bones is charged as an adult for the September 9th shooting, and is also in York County Prison. 

Police are searching for Jahzion Smallwood. He is also charged with attempted homicide for teh September 9th shooting, and reckless endangerment for the September 12th shooting.
