ABC27 hosted a job fair Wednesday at the Radisson Hotel in Camp Hill. More than 400 people showed up looking for jobs, and more than 40 different local businesses took part.

Internally, we’re trying to hire some good candidates at job fairs like the one ABC’s putting on is very important to try and identify what good talent’s out there, said Michael Wilson, CEO, for U Group Employment Agency.

There was quite the variety of employers at the fair, from Hershey Entertainment and Resorts, to Weis, recruiting companies, and medical staffing agencies.

Basically we have a job for everybody. We do hire about 5,000 people over the summer, said Andrew Crouse, with Hershey Entertainment and Resorts.

It puts our word out there, puts their jobs out there, so that they can actually find something that might be a fit for them, said Denice Gipe, President of Prominent Medical Staffing.

The jobless rate fell to the lowest in decades in Pennsylvania, something local businesses say is evident.

Since 2007, I haven’t seen it like this, said Wilson.

And there were seminars throughout the day from Harley Davidson, Select Medical, and UPMC Pinnacle, on how to ace the interview process.

I learned how to improve my resume, because they give you really good tips, like what actually they look for, and what kind of system they use to select it, said Dayana Estrella.

ABC27 has openings available for an account executive and a creative services producer.
