Arrest made in brutal killing of a dog

Swatara Township Police made an arrest in a brutal killing of a dog last week.

Investigators charged 19-year-old Christopher Roberts of Elizabethville.

Police say he went into a home last week, took a dog named “Bella” and killed it.

“Bella” was found Friday morning along the 300 block of Rupp Hill Road.

She had severe injuries and died at an animal hospital.

Police believe Roberts knew “Bella’s” owners.

“Mr. Roberts was an acquaintance of one of the individuals that live at the residence and one of the owners of the dog. They had been friends for some time and there was some type of disagreement between the two which culminated in Mr. Roberts taking and killing their dog,” said Lt. Timothy Shatto, Swatara Township Police.

Roberts is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, burglary, and theft.
