The Pennsylvania State Police say a nearly 3-and-a-half hour standoff ended with the suspect being taken into custody.
According to State Police, the situation started around 4:10 this afternoon, when a man with mental health issues barricaded himself in a home on Kimberly Lane in Reading Township.
Township Police were originally called to the home for a welfare check, when they reached out to State Police Gettysburg for assistance.
The State Police Special Emergency Response Team responded, and residents were asked to stay in their homes, or avoid the area.
State Police say the man was taken into custody without incident around 7:30.
