Volunteers at the Bethesda Mission in Harrisburg dedicated their day off to making sure those in need have a place at the table.
They began preparing food at 7:30 am. Many postponed their own Thanksgiving dinners so they could serve others.
“My dad said, ‘hey we’re going to go do this on Thanksgiving,’ and I said okay,” said Shenekia Goldsmith. “He put a whole bunch of crates on the ground so that I could actually reach the table and we got to learn how to cut and cook everything for hundreds of people.”
Every year, the Bethesda Mission serves about 200 people.
