Coroner releases autopsy findings in East Pennsboro murder-suicide

Carlisle/West Shore

The Cumberland County coroner has released the findings of an autopsy performed Tuesday on the victim of a murder-suicide in East Pennsboro Township.

Coroner Charley Hall said Sue Grundon died from multiple gunshot wounds and her death has been ruled a homicide. She had no other injuries.

James Grundon died from a single gunshot wound and his death was ruled a suicide, Hall said.

Sue Grundon, 54, was shot Sunday evening as she drove out of the driveway at the couple’s home in the 800 block of Country Club Road. District Attorney Skip Ebert said James Grundon walked after the car as it rolled down the driveway and fired the final shot into the window: She died at a hospital.

James Grundon, 55, then shot himself behind the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have not released any details about a possible motive.
