Horse running on Turnpike in Cumberland County

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) – Pennsylvania State Police said a horse escaped from fencing and entered the Turnpike at 11:00 a.m. Friday.

The horse traveled west on the roadway for approximately three miles between mile marker 213 and 217.

Turnpike maintenance and passing motorists assisted in a successful capture of the horse.

The horse was not injured and returned safely to its owner.
