People may notice increased activity around the naval supply depot near Mechanicsburg during an anti-terrorism exercise next month.
Exercise Citadel Shield – Solid Curtain 2019 is a two-week exercise scheduled February 4-15 at all Navy installations in the continental U.S.
Rear Adm. Charles Rock, the commander of the Navy’s Mid-Atlantic Region, said the exercise is designed to enhance the readiness of security forces.
Rock said there may be times when the exercise will cause increased traffic around installations or delays in installation access. Area residents may also see or hear security activities associated with the exercise.
The annual and regularly scheduled exercise is not in response to any specific threat.
