Drivers frustrated by the slow-moving traffic caused by roadway repair work on Interstate 81 in Cumberland County will get a break on Friday.
A PennDOT spokesperson said there will be no asphalt work on the interstate.
Crews have been restricting lanes while they repave parts of I-81 southbound in the Enola area, causing traffic backups into Harrisburg.
There’s also slow-moving traffic in the Carlisle area when crews are working on the northbound lanes.
Repair work on I-81 is expected to wrap up by the middle of September.
