Police ask parents to monitor kid internet activity after threat

Carlisle/West Shore

Police are warning about the dangers of not watching what your kids are doing online after a child is accused of sending a threatening message to a Cumberland Valley Middle School student through an app.

On Tuesday, the Good Hope Middle School student who received the message notified a parent who then told district staff.

Hampden Township Police were called to investigate.  They identified the person who sent the message and charged them as a juvenile with terroristic threats.

Police want parents to remind their children that threats of violence in a school setting are never right, and want parents to watch what their children are doing on the internet as the number of crimes committed by or against children are spiking.
