School district uses song parody to announce 2-hour delay

Carlisle/West Shore

MECHANICSBURG, Pa (WHTM) – Not satifsied with the typical phone call and email to alert parents and students to a snow delay, elementary school principals at Cumberland Valley School District created a music video.

They reworked the lyrics to “Shallow,” Lady Gaga’s Grammy Award winning song from the movie “A Star is Born.”

In the district’s video titled “A Two Hour Delay is Born”, the original lyrics in the chorus is changed from “In the shallow, shallow, We’re far from the shallow now,” to “In the snow, snow, we’ll see you two hours from now.”

In the end, they didn’t end up seeing the students in two hours because the district ultimately decided to close for the day.
