A woman convicted of abusing her infant son more than 20 years ago has been jailed on charges in connection with his death, prosecutors said Monday.

Teresa Gill, 41, was arrested Friday for criminal homicide and involuntary manslaughter.

Gill, previously of Carlisle, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in 1998 after authorities said she violently shook her 5-month-old son. Gill told authorities she was angry at the baby’s father and took it out on the child.

Kurtis Reed-Miller never recovered from the abuse and remained debilitated until his death last year.

“The autopsy revealed that Kurtis Reed-Miller died of aspiration, pneumonia, and pulmonary fibrosis, which resulted from complications of blunt force trauma to his head,” Cumberland County District Attorney Skip Ebert said.

Gill is in Cumberland County Prison without bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 10.
