Friday marks the 77th anniversary of the attacks at Pearl Harbor.
A commemoration ceremony is scheduled at the state Capitol at 1 p.m. The event will be held in the East Wing Rotunda and will include survivors and family members.
Ceremonies are expected to take place across the country as Americans pause to remember the milestone that plunged the U.S. Into World War II.
December 7 is known as a “date which will live in infamy,” after a famous speech given on December 8, 1847, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. He said the country was “suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.”
