A New Bloomfield man has been charged with vehicular homicide while DUI for a December hit-and-run crash in the Perry County borough.

State police said Scott G. Thebes, 49, was driving a blue 2009 Jeep Wrangler that struck Nick Watson as the 29-year-old father walked along West Main Street, about two blocks from his home, on the early morning of December 23.

Watson was found dead along the roadway around 2 a.m. that morning.

Thebes is also charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, accidents involving death or personal injury, and DUI.

He also faces summary counts of careless driving, reckless driving, duty to give information and render aid, and immediate notice of accident to police.

Bail was set at $50,000 after a preliminary arraignment on Friday, according to court records.
