It’s been two days since the release of the grand jury report into sexual abuse in the Catholic church, but some survivors are still looking for closure.
Sharon Tell says she was abused by a priest in the Allentown diocese for decades. She says the man abused her from the age of 12 to 32.
“What happened was I kind of split, so I had a part of me that could deal with the abuse and then the other part of me was just me,” she said.
Tell says she reported the abuse to church officials, law enforcement, and district attorneys, but no one took action.
She wants the full report released, without redactions, because her abuser is not named.
“It’s not the reaction I expected to have. I don’t think this is ever going to go away,” she said. “There are signs every day that remind me of my abuse.”
