Work to repair a masonry stone wall that collapsed in April will restrict a section of Route 11/15 in Perry County to a single lane for about a month, beginning next week.

The work just south of Perdix is scheduled to begin Tuesday at around 8:30 a.m., according to a PennDOT news release.

The single-lane traffic restriction will likely continue to mid-to-late July before the main repairs are completed.

Temporary traffic signals will be installed to control northbound and southbound traffic through the work zone.

PennDOT spokesman Greg Penny said the restriction is necessary so that construction crews can have the room necessary to work safely.

A concrete barrier will be installed to separate traffic from the work area.

Penny said the repairs currently are estimated at around $800,000.

He said a contractor will demolish the damaged area of the existing wall and build a new concrete wall.

Masonry stones will be placed on the face of the new wall to give it the same appearance as the existing wall.
