If you’re looking for a free family friendly event this weekend consider checking out the Eastern Alpaca Jubilee.
Alpaca farmers from more than seven states are gathering in the midstate all weekend to show off their pride and joy at the Farm Show Complex.
The Alpaca Jubilee kicks off at 9:00 am Saturday morning. The Mid-Atlantic Alpaca association said the annual show is one of the largest and most well-attended alpaca shows in the United States.
The goal is to provide education, guidance, support for new and existing owners, breeders, and businesses.
The event features lectures about alpacas as well as demonstrations and shows.
At the event, you can learn about alpaca fleeces at different breeder exhibits and vendors.
These alpacas have restrictions to be at the event, they must be healthy, registered and microchipped.
Friday is the first official day of the show and will include a halter show, walking fleece show and youth classes.
Saturday’s big event is the alpaca shearing and fleece to shall competition. There will be multiple performances Friday through Sunday open to the public.
The alpaca jubilee is open Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm and from Sunday from 9am-noon. The free event is indoors and will continue rain or shine.
