UPDATE: Fire erupts after car crashes into Gettysburg gift shop


GETTYSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — A vehicle crashed into a building on Baltimore Street in Gettysburg early Monday morning, causing multiple buildings to catch fire.

The Gettysburg Fire Department and numerous first aid companies responded to the crash which involved four residential apartments and the Blue & Gray Gift Shop.

Residents say they were woken by the crash around 4:30 a.m. All six people escaped the building.

While the investigation is still ongoing, the Adams County Coroner has been called to the scene. No official injury report has been issued at this time.

Fire trucks and ambulances have caused all lanes to close on Baltimore Pk / Baltimore St. Both directions between Slocum Ave and Baltimore St, Steinwehr Ave.

Officials expect the roads to be closed for several hours.
