HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Two people were wounded in a shooting incident Wednesday morning near a Harrisburg elementary school.

Officers responded to a shots-fired call in the area of South 13th and Sycamore streets around 10:30 a.m. and found the wounded people outside the De La Cruz grocery store.

Both were transported to a hospital for treatment of their injuries. A medical condition was not available.

The brother of one victim rushed to the scene when he heard the news.

“He was in the store and I guess someone starting firing in the store and he got shot,” Antwoine Burnett said.

“He is listed as stable and that is a good thing, and I am waiting for him to give me a call and let me know that he is OK.”

No suspects have been arrested.

“We have recovered casings from the area and it’s an ongoing investigation,” police Captain Gabriel Olivera said.

The nearby Foose Elementary School was temporarily placed on lockdown. The lockdown was lifted at 11 a.m.
