Bishop McDevitt board makes changes amid leadership concerns

Harrisburg

The Bishop McDevitt Board of Directors announced that changes are coming to the high school after teachers, students and parents expressed concerns about school leaders.

In a letter to the community, the board said they hired Dr. Nancy Burke to assist with day to day principal operations.

The board also said a page has been set up on the school’s website so people can send their feedback about the school’s leadership directly to board members.

Last month, a large crowd showed up to a town hall meeting held by the board to complain about current school president Jim Vail.

Vail was hired last year. Some students and parents told ABC27 News they don’t think he is a good fit for the school and is too abrasive in his approach to Catholic education.
