A 13-year-old Central Dauphin East Middle School student has been arrested for creating social media posts that caused a lockdown and search of the school on Monday.

Lower Paxton Township police said the boy made several lewd and threatening Instagram posts to other students.

He was charged as a juvenile Tuesday with three counts of terroristic threats and two counts of harassment by communication. He has since been released to his parents.

Police said throughout the investigation, there was never a direct threat to any schools.
