The former principal of a Harrisburg charter school is accused of having indecent contact with a student.

Harrisburg police say Timothy S. Hess inappropriately touched a boy on several occasions at Sylvan Heights Science Charter School.

The boy reported in September that Hess touched him over and sometimes under the underwear while helping him tuck his shirt, according to the criminal complaint.

Police said the incidents occurred between 2012 and 2015, beginning when the boy was in kindergarten.

Hess, 44, of Harrisburg, is charged with indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old.

He turned himself into police on December 3 and was released on $25,000 unsecured bail after an arraignment, according to court records.
