Chief: Hoarding conditions made fighting fire more difficult

Harrisburg

STEELTON, Pa (WHTM) – Fighting a fire in Steelton was complicated by hoarding conditions inside the home, according to the borough’s fire chief.

The fire started shortly before 5 A.M.. at a home on the 600 block of South Second Street.

Crews were able to get the fire under control in about 20 minutes, but the house is considered a total loss because the second floor collapsed.

Two firefighters were treated for minor burns.

The fire chief said hoarding conditions inside the home made it difficult for crews to maneuver as they fought the fire.

The fire is currently listed as an accidental electrical fire.
