Close call after fire at shredding company in Harrisburg

A paper company will open for business Friday after a close call with a fire.

Firefighters said Tri-State Shredding on Seventh Street in Harrisburg almost went up in flames. It’s believed that 18 one-ton bales of paper were charred.

The fire chief said the only reason the building didn’t catch on fire is that employees caught it in time and tried to stop the flames from spreading.  They were able to call for help and prevent further damage.

No one was injured.

The fire company said the fire was accidental.
