Crow dispersal to begin at Capitol

Harrisburg

Capitol police are scheduled to begin an annual crow dispersal program around the state Capitol Complex in Harrisburg.

Officers will use rounds that produce either a whistling or popping sound to frighten the birds, starting Monday from 5-9 p.m.

The rounds are not harmful to the crows.

Crow droppings can cause damage to the exterior of the Capitol building, and sidewalks covered in the mess become slick, presenting a safety hazard to pedestrians.
