A Dauphin County jury will hear the trial of an East Pittsburgh police officer charged in the shooting death of an unarmed black teenager last year.
The state Supreme Court ordered that the county will provide the jury under a change of venire granted in the case against Michael Rosfeld, the Allegheny County district attorney’s office said Tuesday.
Rosfeld, 30, is charged with criminal homicide in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Antwon Rose Jr. as the teen ran from a traffic stop on June 19.
Rose was a passenger in a car suspected in a drive-by shooting. He and another passenger fled as Rosfeld arrested the driver.
Prosecutors said Rosfeld shot Rose in the back then gave contradicting statements about seeing a gun.
The trial is scheduled to begin next month.
