D&H Distributing has been an uptown Harrisburg landmark for nearly 70 years. But it is about to move to a new location in the suburbs.
The electronics distributor did nearly $4 billion in sales last year. If your college student bought a laptop or flash drive in their school’s bookstore, it likely came from D&H.
Last week, owners completed the purchase of the old AMP/Tyco/TE Connectivity facility in Lower Paxton Township. It will double in size from 120,000 square feet to 240,000 square feet.
The company could be headquartered anywhere, but it wants to stay in the Midstate.
“Because of hard work ethic and the family atmosphere and culture we’ve built at D&H. Som we think this is a catapult or springboard for the future success of the organization, hopefully for the next 50-plus years out of this facility,” said Michael Schwab, co-president of D&H Distributing.
Renovations on the new building will begin soon. They hope to be in place by this fall or early next year.
