UPDATE: John Harris High School in Harrisburg to be virtual Wednesday due to shooting investigation

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Shots were fired at John Harris High School on the east side of the school’s campus. Harrisburg Police were dispatched to the scene just after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7.

According to the police report, police found few people in the area. Upon searching the parking area in question, police located a single-shell casing in the parking lot on the east side.

A letter to school families on Tuesday night announced that the John Harris Campus will operate virtually on Wednesday in order to assist the Harrisburg Police with the ongoing investigation.

At this time, it appears no one was injured and there is no evidence of a person that was struck at the scene.

The scene is under active investigation and the police ask anyone with information to contact them at 717-558-6900.
