Harrisburg police have a new substation without months of renovating the space.
A prefabricated substation arrived in the city on Thursday on five oversized loads. The station will be placed on a concrete foundation at 15th and Drummond streets.
The substation will allow officers assigned there to spend more time with young people in the neighborhood. Police hope to have it ready for use by February 11.
The 1,600-square-foot station had a total construction bid price of $929,194. City funds and federal dollars paid for it.
