Harrisburg police search Downey School after 911 call

A Harrisburg elementary school was locked down for about two hours Friday afternoon after a 911 caller reported a suspicious package outside of the building.

Police with bomb-sniffing dogs began an inside and outside search of Downey School around 12:12 p.m. but found no evidence of a suspicious package, district spokeswoman Kirsten Keys said.

The lockdown was lifted around 2:15 p.m.

Downey students were dismissed from school at their regularly scheduled dismissal time.
