HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - The Pride of the Susquehanna riverboat will return to its dock at City Island Wednesday.
After last week's heavy rain and flooding, the dock was damaged and needed to be replaced.
Sightseeing tours and other events have been canceled since then. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done before they can resume.
Harrisburg Area Riverboat Society says the dock was repaired on Tuesday. It was also repositioned to its original location on the east side of City Island.
Staff and volunteers will finish installing railing and electricity over the next few days. The boat also needs to be cleaned.
Harrisburg Area Riverboat Society board president Deborah Donahue said she's hopeful the riverboat will be ready for a scheduled dinner cruise on Friday evening. She's hoping daily sightseeing tours will resume this weekend, if not sooner.
