‘Honor their legacy’ woman writes after husband, daughter die in I-83 crash

Harrisburg

The wife and mother of two people who died in a crash on Interstate 83 near Harrisburg on Friday posted a viral message on Facebook.

Jessica Lybrand’s post has more than 2,000 comments and close to 10,000 shares. The post paid tribute to her husband Zachary Lybrand and their 16-month-old daughter Elliana.

“He was such a good father, a good husband, and a good son, literally the nicest guy you’d ever want to meet,” Jessica wrote. “And she was just the best parts of both of us wrapped up in the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen, the perfect mix.”

Jessica also had a strong message for the community about drinking and driving.

“Take a second and think twice. Just don’t drink and drive. Even if its just one life, honor their legacy and don’t put innocent lives in danger,” she said.

A Messiah College senior, 22-year-old Ethan VanBochoven of Pompton Plains, New Jersey, also died in the crash.

A GoFundMe page has been created for the Lybrand family.
