Huge tree uprooted by storm closes Susquehanna Township street

Harrisburg

A very large tree was uprooted by Tuesday afternoon’s storm and completely closed the 3300 block of Green Street in Susquehanna Township.

The roots of the toppled tree lifted the concrete sidewalk several feet.

The storm also downed a smaller tree across the street. The tree landed on part of a home. It was not immediately known if the house sustained serious damage.

Neighbors said they went to their basement after the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of Dauphin County. When the warning ended, they said they looked out the window and saw the large tree on the street.
