JFT Recovery and Veterans Support Services is opening a women’s veterans home in Susquehanna Township.
Ally Murr served in the Army and is now in recovery. She’s the center’s veterans coordinator and is spearheading the project.
A World War II veteran who wanted to give back is leasing out his home.
Community members donated furniture.
Home Depot worked with JFT on funding for some of the repairs that need to be done.
JFT says this helps fill the need for more women’s homes in Pennsylvania.
There are still openings for women who want to live in the home.
Organizers are currently working on getting mattresses and hope the home will open in the coming weeks.
More than 250 people get services at JFT each week.
