Andrew Foy loved boxing when he was growing up.
“It was something I enjoyed doing when I was in high school,” said Foy. “I gave it up after I went off to college.”
Foy said that he has been a big supporter of local boxing in the Harrisburg area.
“I have spent time with trainers in the city,” said Foy. “There is a lot of talent in the area.”
Foy runs Titans Boxing Promotions. They have promoted seven boxing events in Harrisburg since 2017.
Saturday night, a big crowd gathered at the Zembo Shrine in Uptown Harrisburg. There were eight fights and many featured fighters from the Harrisburg region, including Angel Rivera.
Foy said that fighters in the region get a chance to show their talent and many may get a chance to continue to climb the ranks and take on better competition.
He thinks professional boxing will continue to gain more momentum and interest in the area.
“This was the best card so far,” said Foy. “You can feel the energy in the ring and in the crowd.”
Foy said that he plans on having more professional fights in Harrisburg in 2019.
