UPDATE: Lt. Gov. Fetterman filed paperwork as a step to run for US Senate

Harrisburg

Correction: Earlier abc27 News reported that Lt. Gov. John Fetterman officially announced his run for senate, but he has only filed paperwork to form a campaign committee.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman has officially made steps towards entering the 2022 race for US Senate.

On Thursday he signed and filed paperwork to the Federal Election Commission after starting a donation campaign for the race in January.

It is widely expected that Fetterman will run for Republican Senator Pat Toomey’s current seat.

Toomey said last year that he won’t be running for re-election.
