HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Harrisburg man will serve at least six years in prison for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.

Joseph Rivera-Rivera, 21, was sentenced Wednesday to 6 to 12 years in state prison. The sentence also calls for Rivera-Rivera to serve five years of probation, undergo sexual offender’s treatment, and to register for life under Megan’s Law.

The Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office said Rivera-Rivera assaulted the girl on two separate occasions during the summer of 2016.

He pleaded guilty in January to charges of rape of a child, unlawful contact with a minor, and corruption of a minor.
