PennDOT to hold open house on Route 322 intersection project

Harrisburg

PennDOT plans to redesign a complicated and frustrating intersection on Route 322 near Harrisburg, and the department wants to hear what people think about it.

The intersection at Chambers Hill Road and Grayson Road in Swatara Township is a 6-way intersection that’s prone to traffic back-ups and long light cycles.

PennDOT has three possible fixes: reduce the six lanes to four; new coordinated traffic signals; or a roundabout.

The department will have designs on display and listen to public comments at an open house on Thursday from 5:30-8:30 p.m., at the Swatara Township Municipal Building on Eisenhower Boulevard.
