Plunge into Susquehanna raises funds for animal shelter

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – The new year started out with a dip in the chilly Susquehanna River for participants of the 23rd annual Penguin Plunge on City Island.

The run into the river raised money for homeless animals at Humane Society of Harrisburg Area.

Participants must raise or donate $40. For $70, they get an event towel to dry off.
