Harrisburg police investigating homicide on Curtin Street


HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The Latest on the homicide on Curtin Street:

7:44 p.m.

Sources confirm the man is dead.


7:03 p.m.

Police responded to the 500 block of Curtin Street just before 5 p.m. for a reported car crash. When they arrived, they discovered a victim who sustained more than only crash injuries, impacted by additional trauma.

They are unsure whether that is a result of being stabbed or shot. He has been taken to the hospital but his condition is currently unknown.

There are pieces of the victim’s car and shards of glass scattered throughout the street and evidence markers placed throughout the crime scene.

Police acknowledged there has been a recent spike in violence in the city and are asking the public for support.

“We will continue to be the professionals that we are and work towards solving these incidents. The best thing that we can get from the citizens of Harrisburg is any type of cooperation or help they can give us,” Deputy Chief Deric Moody said.


6:10 p.m.

Police are investigating a possible homicide on the 500 block of Curtin Street.

Witnesses say the victim was in his car when at least two people stabbed him before running away.
