Police looking for hit-and-run driver who struck woman in crosswalk


HARRISBURG, Pa (WHTM) – Harrisburg police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that hit and seriously injured a pedestrian in a crosswalk. 

Police were called to South Third and Chestnut Streets shortly after 5:00 Monday evening where they found a 51-year-old woman lying unresponsive with traumatic injuries. 

Police said their investigation showed the woman was legally crossing South Third street when a vehicle traveling eastbound ran through the red light, hitting the victim.

Police said the vehicle fled east on the Mulberry Street Bridge.
