HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - PennDOT has started preparatory work to widen Interstate 83 in the Harrisburg area.
Crews are clearing areas along the northbound and southbound lanes in Lower Paxton Township. They're building retaining walls and will change the road alignment.
The project involves a nearly three-mile stretch of I-83 from Union Deposit Road to the I-81 split. It's expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
