Test solves one mystery deer death

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - The Pennsylvania Game Commission has determined what caused at least one mysterious death of a white-tailed deer in northern Dauphin County.

The game commission said one of the deer tested died of dehydration.

People in the Carsonville and Powell's Valley area reported finding up to 21 dead deer since the first week of the rifle hunting season. They said about half of the deer showed strange symptoms before dying.

The game commission has said it has reports of only five dead deer in the area.

Tests results on two other deer are pending.
