Numerous police officers wearing protective gear have converged on a Lower Paxton Township neighborhood for an unknown incident.
Police K9 units were also at the scene in the 5900 block of Larue Street, off Mountain Road near the village of Linglestown, where a man is reportedly barricaded inside a home.
Lower Paxton Township police say they were called to the scene at 12:05 p.m. in response to a suicidal subject.
Authorities say the caller reported that she was on the phone with her estranged husband when he made several suicidal statements. The caller then heard what she believed to be a gunshot.
The Dauphin County CRT team was activated and negotiators entered into dialogue with the subject.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., the man surrendered to police without incident. No one was hurt during the incident.
Police on scene would not comment on the situation.
The investigation is ongoing.
